Foster Care
A Child in Need - A Family to Receive
Foster Care Track
Foster Care is a temporary, family solution for children that have been removed from their homes by the Ministry of Welfare. The child lives with the foster family, and the foster parents are granted some parental rights but do not have legal guardianship over the child. Five organizations manage the Israeli foster care system under the supervision of the Ministry of Welfare.
Children of all ages are in need of foster care, and a foster family may take in more than one child at a time. Research has shown that family-based care is the best option for OVC, greatly increases their livelihood, and provides the optimal environment for proper development.
*You must be an Israeli citizen or permanent resident and live in Israel to become a foster family.
